Victorian walnut leather club sofa

We are delighted to offer for sale this splendid Victorian antique sofa dating from around 1880, handmade in England, with hand-carved walnut claw and ball feet, and feather-filled cushions. An aesthetic, well-made, and decorative sofa, exceptionally comfortable. Recently reupholstered in a very pleasant chestnut brown leather. The seat cushions are overstuffed and filled with feathers, and the frame is entirely hand-carved in walnut, beautiful from every angle! Regarding the condition, it has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, with an honest and pleasant patina without notable defects. Dimensions: Height: 79.5 cm, Width: 221 cm, Depth: 91 cm, Seat Height: 55 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. Item available for collection from our warehouses in Pulborough. Period and original items like leather seating always have a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. We recommend annual waxing to preserve moisture; the hand-dyed leather should not be exposed to direct sunlight for long periods, as this may cause dryness and discolouration.
