We are delighted to offer for sale this lovely desk handcrafted in England from burr walnut with a writing surface in aged brown leather. It is an important and sophisticated piece of English Victorian furniture. Every discerning gentleman's library should have one. The desk is of high quality, with stunning walnut veneers that are truly exquisite. The leather top has aged beautifully and resembles original hide entirely. The desk has been lightly restored with a deep clean, hand-applied conditioning wax, and manual polishing from top to bottom. It possesses all the original charm and charisma one hopes to find. Dimensions taken at the widest points: Height 74 cm, Width 122.5 cm, Depth 64.5 cm. Height of leg space 61 cm, Width of leg space 56 cm. Note that period and original items such as leather will always have a natural patina in the form of creases and wear. It is recommended to wax annually to prevent moisture loss. Hand-dyed leather is not recommended for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as it may dry out and discolour.
