We are delighted to offer for sale this charming Victorian English partner's desk dating from around 1880, featuring two columns, original castors, and locks stamped VR for Victoria Regina. An aesthetically pleasing and well-designed desk, slightly restored, in good period condition. The desk showcases a beautiful dark wood patina, and the brown leather writing surface is in excellent condition. The locks, stamped VR, indicate they were made and patented during the reign of Queen Victoria. The desk has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, with signs of age-related use throughout, as one would expect from a piece nearly 160 years old, without affecting its functionality or aesthetic beauty. Dimensions: Height 74 cm, Width 122 cm, Depth 67.5 cm. Leg space: Height 60 cm, Width 54 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Condition: Please refer to the very detailed photos that are part of the description regarding the condition. Note that vintage and period items, particularly leather seating, always exhibit a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear. We recommend regular waxing to preserve moisture and advise against exposing hand-dyed leather to prolonged direct sunlight, as this can dry it out and cause discolouration.
