We are delighted to offer for sale this charming Regency period desk from around 1815, a bow front kneehole partner desk, made of solid mahogany with hairy lion paw feet. A beautiful and well-crafted piece, the wood's patina is superb, the hairy lion paw feet are finely hand-carved, and all locks are present, correct, and original. The curved top provides a larger upper drawer and more legroom. The item has been deeply cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished. It shows signs of patina in the form of slightly raised wood, with some marks or scratches, which is remarkable for a piece of furniture over 200 years old. Dimensions taken at the widest point: height 74.5 cm, width 114.5 cm, depth 60 cm. This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouse. Please refer to the very detailed photos that are part of the description regarding the condition. Note that vintage items like leather seating always have a natural patina including cracks, creases, and wear. It is recommended to regularly wax to prevent moisture loss, and not to expose hand-dyed leather to prolonged direct sunlight as it may dry out and discolour.
