We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent and quite rare hand-carved solid mahogany kneehole desk, original from the early Victorian period. A very decorative piece, initially made as an ornate and highly decorative kneehole desk, which can of course be used as a desk or as a small sideboard. It retains all its original fittings and handles, the latter being particularly unique, a tour de force of style, design, and craftsmanship. We have cleaned, waxed, and polished the desk from top to bottom; apart from normal age-related patina, it is in good overall condition. Dimensions: Height 76.5 cm, Width 111.5 cm, Depth 63 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our warehouse in Wimbledon. Condition: please refer to the very detailed photos that are part of the description regarding the condition. Please note that vintage and original period items, such as leather seating, will always have a natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear. We recommend regular waxing to prevent moisture loss. Additionally, hand-dyed leather is not recommended for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as it may dry out and discolour.
