Pair of fully restored antique Davenport desks.

We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptional pair of side Davenport desks with bookcases, fully restored, Regency period circa 1810-1820, in walnut and brown leather. These are the only pairs of Davenport of this size seen. Designed as open library shelves with Davenport tops, they have been fully restored including new brown leather writing surfaces with embossed gold leaf. The tables have been stripped and then French polished while retaining all the original patina. Featuring very decorative bronze gallery rails, they impart a luxurious and significant appearance in any decor. The pair is almost perfect, one is 1 cm smaller and has a different central gallery rail support. Dimensions at their widest point: Height: 95.5 cm & 94.5 cm, Width: 54 cm & 54 cm, Depth: 43.5 cm & 44 cm, knee height 67.5 cm & 67 cm, knee width 37.5 cm & 35.5 cm. Please note that all period furniture exhibits natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear to the leather. Recommendation: regularly wax the leather to prevent moisture loss and avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight to preserve the leather's hand-dyed finish.
