Beautiful secretary from the time of Napoleon III, made of blackened wood with marquetry, mid-19th century, originating from Northern Italy, attributed to Ferdinando Pogliani, featuring rich inlays. A plaque at the lower part depicts an elegant woman seen from behind, being courted with a fine meal and a serenade. Davenport with two detached columns and a door opening to three drawers on the right side. The writing surface slides forward to accommodate the knees underneath. The slanted desk rises to reveal an interior cabinet. At the top, the shelf also lifts to reveal compartments. An elegant piece of furniture offering ample storage. Neoclassical furniture.
