Victorian antique military writing desk

We are delighted to offer for sale this military campaign writing desk from the early Victorian era in the form of a Davenport desk dating from 1840-1860, made of solid mahogany. This type is very rare, designed for campaigns, hence small and lightweight, and it can also be used today as a desk in a library or office. It has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, with an authentic period patina. The original key has been lost, but a new one can be easily made. Dimensions: height 76 cm, width 49 cm, depth 37 cm extending to 58.5 cm (measurements at the widest point). Available for collection in Pulborough. Condition: good with signs of wear and slight discolouration due to age and use.
