Exquisite burr walnut Davenport desk with inlays from the early 19th century. This small English piece, which can serve as a writing desk or a superb display cabinet, is of exceptional quality. Such fine pieces are rarely seen. Made entirely of burr walnut, it features wood inlays throughout, a testament to its high quality. The right side has four drawers, each with mahogany sides and bottoms, another mark of quality. The left side of the front is adorned with four false drawers in the same style as the main drawers. The upper section consists of a slanted drop-front lined with leather, revealing a storage compartment with two drawers. The upper section also includes a letter compartment covered by a lid with a bronze gallery. It rests on casters. Magnificent patina and in perfect condition.
