Writing desk, mahogany writing table from the official office of the British Treasury from the 19th century. It opens with a writing surface, has two drawers in the waist, and also features two lower shelves for practical storage. It rests on a turned wooden base ending in roller feet. Stamped WR IV Reign of King William IV (United Kingdom), 1830-1837. This type of marking was used on official government furniture in the UK, particularly those belonging to ministries, officials' offices, customs administrations, or military offices.
