Library Desk in Carved Oak with Brass Handles

We are delighted to offer this very rare and highly sought-after antique bureau bookcase dating from around 1860, in Jacobean Renaissance style, beautifully carved. This piece is finely crafted from all angles, featuring large solid brass lion head handles in Regency style. The central section includes a desk with a green cloth writing surface, as well as several drawers and shelves. A row of drawers is located at the base. It has been thoroughly cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished, showing normal signs of patina due to age and use, typical of a piece of furniture that is 170 years old. The dimensions are given at the widest point: height 195.5 cm, width 94 cm, depth 52.5 cm.
