Its simple and perfectly balanced lines, characteristic of the neoclassical taste of the late 18th century, are highlighted by beautiful craftsmanship and original brass fittings. The front opens with an upper drawer, a drop-down writing surface, and two large lower drawers. The drop-down reveals an interior composed of storage compartments, six small drawers, and a central space, providing a functional and elegant workspace. The writing surface is covered in leather. The fluted columns, drop handles in brass, diamond-shaped keyholes, and central lock emphasise the refined simplicity typical of the Louis XVI style. The slightly overhanging black lacquered top adds an extra touch of distinction. The whole piece rests on tapered legs ending in small brass feet. Period: Louis XVI, late 18th century.
