Antique bridal wardrobe dating from around 1820, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The heavy, weathered character and the original paintings give it an amazing appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The wardrobe is painted in a soft blue colour with red accents, with trees of life in the panels and scroll motifs on the sides. A nice detail is a piece of 'graffiti' from the time, barely visible but at the beginning of the 20th century someone carved their name on the side of the wardrobe. The wardrobe has been professionally checked as a whole, with attention to originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been maintained. The layout consists of an original shelf and a later added rod. The wardrobe can be locked with the original working lock and impressive key. Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated. 169cm high, 122cm wide, 47cm deep.
