Exceptional antique bridal wardrobe made of pine dating from 1845. This wardrobe is simply designed but beautifully painted in a reddish-brown colour with floral decorations in the panels. The upper panels also feature the wedding date of the previous owner. This piece is still in good condition for its age, although there are naturally some light signs of use. There are occasional old woodworm traces, which have of course been checked and treated, and the paint is worn in some places. All in all, a very characteristic piece. The interior of the wardrobe is still original with a drawer, shelves, coat hooks and a rod. There is also a secret storage compartment hidden behind the drawer. The wardrobe still has the original working lock with key. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a wedding gift to the couple. These pieces of furniture were later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece comes from South Germany (Oberpfalz).
