Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet 1844

Antique bridal wardrobe dating from 1844, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The heavily aged character and original paintings give it an amazing appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The wardrobe is painted in a reddish-brown colour with wood motifs, colourful panels and marbled accents. The panels feature flowers, village scenes and the love heart. The wardrobe has been professionally checked for originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been retained. The layout consists of two later added shelves. The wardrobe can be locked with a working lock and is demountable (2-piece). Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated.
