Louis XIV wardrobe in richly moulded and marquetry walnut – 18th century. Important solid walnut wardrobe opening with two doors, of very high quality craftsmanship, dating from the first half of the 18th century. It features a richly architectured façade with wide moulded panels enhanced by sculpted reserves and remarkable star-shaped marquetry medallions, made from different types of wood. The decoration is accentuated by numerous sculpted and partially gilded ornaments: shells, scrolls, and foliage, culminating in an imposing central cartouche above the doors. The rounded uprights, the overhanging cornice, and the turned feet give the whole piece remarkable elegance and presence. The interior is equipped with its original lock and hardware. The piece retains a beautiful warm and authentic patina. Some cracks and signs of use, inherent to its age, are visible without detracting from its character or solidity. A wardrobe of great decor, both understated and spectacular, ideal for a classic or contemporary interior. Dimensions: Height: 230 cm. Width: 175 cm. Depth: 65 cm. A beautiful piece of regional furniture from the 18th century, combining quality cabinetmaking, decorative richness, and harmonious proportions.
