Victorian military commode in patinated walnut.

We are delighted to offer for sale this beautiful Victorian military officer's chest of drawers in walnut, from the Campaign period. An antique piece in very good condition, the drawers show a lot of original patina as one would expect from military furniture that is around 120-140 years old. All the fittings and hardware are original brass. The piece has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom, with normal age-related patina marks across the surface, as well as some marks on the top that appear to be burns; each patina adds to the aesthetic, charm, and feel of the furniture. Dimensions: Height 94 cm, Width 108 cm, Depth 54.5 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Note that vintage and original items such as leather seating will always show natural patina in the form of cracks, creases, and wear; regular waxing is recommended to prevent moisture loss. We also advise avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for hand-dyed leathers, as they may dry out and fade.
