Cylinder desk inlaid on all sides - Louis XVI style - Floral decoration

Very elegant cylinder desk in Louis XVI style, featuring rich marquetry work with different types of wood on all its faces. The front is particularly decorative with its cylinder entirely inlaid with scrolls, garlands, and floral compositions, organized around a central medallion. The top surface, sides, drawers, and legs are also adorned with delicate marquetry patterns, giving the piece a remarkable decorative unity. Opening the cylinder reveals a well-organized interior including compartments, shelves, and two small inlaid drawers. A large drop-leaf forms the work surface, lined in the center with tawny leather and a golden frieze. The upper part has three small drawers, while the lower part features five drawers, offering ample storage capacity. The desk rests on four tapered straight legs also decorated with marquetry. The quality and abundance of the marquetry, present even on the sides and back, allow this desk to be placed against a wall or in the center of a room.
