This cylinder desk is an exquisite example of Louis XV furniture, renowned for its elegance and refinement. It opens with a cylinder veneered with a four-leaf design in an open book of satin mahogany, featuring wide lemon tree fillets and a mitered frame in rosewood. It simultaneously activates the opening of a dark shelf made of red leather, adorned with vignettes and gold motifs, adding a touch of luxury. The four interior drawers, made of mahogany and light wood, equipped with lens knobs, along with three horizontal niches, offer practical and aesthetic storage solutions. The shaped apron includes a large drawer with masks and pull rings. The presence of the original lock, accompanied by its entry and key, highlights the authenticity and historical value of this piece of furniture. The top of this piece features a slightly concave section, adding softness to the lines. The sides are crafted in the same spirit, with a rosewood frame and a central mahogany veneer. The whole rests on four cabriole legs fitted with brass hooves.
