Victorian Commode in Satin Birch by Holland & Sons 1880

We offer this very beautiful and highly collectible satin birch chest of drawers, with two drawers out of three, made by the legendary house of Holland & Sons. The wood used is warm and golden satin birch. It bears a Holland & Sons stamp on the upper left drawer, and all the locks are signed with the royal patent. The chest of drawers has been cleaned, waxed, and polished. There are slight wood losses on the back left, general patina, and signs of use, with some chisel marks on one of the middle drawers, but it is in very good overall condition. Dimensions: Height 98 cm, Width 107 cm, Depth 58 cm. The house of Holland & Sons, founded in 1803, is one of the most important British furniture manufacturers of the 19th century, renowned for the quality of its pieces and its role in the furnishings of many prestigious locations.
