We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent and very rare original George III double-sided partner's desk from around 1780, made of walnut with lion head handles and a brown leather surface. A finely crafted desk from the late 18th century, unique in its kind, featuring nine traditional drawers at the front, two cupboards, and three drawers at the back, designed to allow two people to share the same desk, in a legal context or for a boss and their assistant. The desk retains all its original lion head handles and its brown leather top, which shows wear in the centre. The desk has been cleaned, waxed, and polished from top to bottom. The leather shows signs of wear, and an old repair is present on one of the cupboard hinges, with a natural patina of over 240 years. Everything functions as it should. A complete restoration is possible upon request, including repairs, a new leather top, or the restoration and hand-dyeing of the existing one, as well as cleaning and French polishing of the wood. The desk is offered in its current condition, appreciated by collectors seeking an authentic patina related to age. Dimensions: Height 72.5 cm, Width 150 cm, Depth 95 cm. Clear height for legs 57 cm, clear width for legs 66.5 cm. Item available for collection from the warehouse in Wimbledon, SW19-3BE. The condition is fair with minor signs of wear, minor losses, slight structural damage, and slight discolouration, typical of an antique vintage piece.
