Antique Biedermeier Mahogany Secretary, 1850

19th-Century Biedermeier Mahogany Secretary Desk in Beautiful Graining. This piece of furniture features three drawers at the bottom, a drop front, and a narrow drawer under the cornice. It is topped with a straight and slightly advanced cornice. The drop front is flanked by small columns, and the inside houses an additional sliding desktop lined with baize, a centrally placed storage compartment, and two rows of drawers. The pyramidal mahogany veneer with beautiful graining makes this secrétaire a highly decorative piece. The secretary desk has undergone thorough renovation and is finished with shellac. Visible traces of cracks are present on both sides. The item was crafted in Germany in 1850 and represents the Biedermeier and Vintage styles. Detailed condition: very good with surface polished, repaired, and refinished, but some cracks remain visible.
