LCW Lounge Chair Eames by Evans / Herman Miller 1950s

Restored LCW (lounge chair wood). Multiplex wood, red-stained finish, as original. First generation chair sold by Herman Miller, but still manufactured by Evans Plywood in 1948-1949. Recognizable by the position and number of screws in 5-2-5 below, which is specific to the versions produced by Evans. From 1950, Herman Miller took over production and the fixing screws changed to 5-2-4. In addition, the presence of flat-head screws indicates that this is a transitional model (later versions are assembled with cross-head screws). Very original chair, new finish as original, original screws, original shock-mounts, even for the back, very good condition. Original Herman Miller label. Very small chips in the veneer at the front of the seat. Very rare version and increasingly difficult to find.
