Magnificent set of four DCW (Dining Chair Wood) chairs designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced by Herman Miller in the United States. A true icon of 20th-century design, the DCW stems from the pioneering research conducted by the Eames on moulded plywood. Its design combines sculptural elegance, remarkable comfort, and technical innovation, making this model one of the most significant creations in the history of modern furniture. This set is made from moulded plywood veneered with walnut, featuring particularly rich and warm grain. The four chairs form a cohesive and harmonious ensemble, with a very beautiful visual presence. The offered examples belong to the second generation of Herman Miller production made between 1950 and 1953, identifiable by the so-called "5-2-4" fastening configuration of the backrest and seat. The chairs have undergone professional surface restoration that highlights the natural beauty of the walnut veneer. They are now presented in excellent overall condition. The original Herman Miller labels are no longer present due to this restoration. A set that has become difficult to find, particularly in a matching walnut version and in such a state of presentation.
