In the early 1950s, moulded plywood became a major experimental ground for American design. The "LCM" model is one of its most accomplished expressions. Designed by the duo Charles Eames and Ray Eames, and produced by Herman Miller in the 1960s, this low chair combines a hot-moulded black ash shell with a chrome tubular steel base. The seat and backrest are attached with rubber spacers, allowing for flexibility and comfort. The line remains clear, functional, without decorative additions. The shells show a patina of use consistent with the era. There are a few light marks on the edges. The chrome structure is in good condition, stable and sound. Each chair measures 66 cm in height, 55 cm in width, and 61 cm in depth. Compact proportions, suitable for a living room, office, or reception area. A classic of 20th-century design, relevant in an international collection or a controlled modernist interior.
