Inspired by the furniture of embarked officers, this beautiful reproduction of a marine chest of drawers embodies the timeless charm of past expeditions. Made from solid mahogany, a noble wood salvaged from old colonial Indian homes, it offers perfect stability: this wood, already marked by time, will no longer warp. Its top is adorned with delicate marquetry representing a compass rose, in ebony and light wood, a poetic tribute to great crossings. The piece is organised into two sections, with a first row of two drawers for small items, followed by three large drawers offering ample storage capacity. Each drawer is fitted with discreet yet robust recessed brass handles. Reinforcement straps and brass corner brackets highlight the naval spirit of the piece while strengthening its structure. An ideal piece for an interior imbued with history, character, and elegance. Period: 20th century. Excellent condition.
