Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet 1827

Antique bridal cupboard from 1827, originating from Franconia in southern Germany. The heavy, lived-in character and the original paintings give the whole a special appearance. Both the design and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. This piece is richly decorated with various colours and motifs, with a predominantly soft blue painting. The cupboard has been professionally checked throughout, with attention to originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina has been retained. The layout consists of two shelves. The cupboard closes with the original, working lock. Old, sporadically present woodworm traces have been checked and treated. The cupboard can be dismantled for transport (2 parts). Bridal cupboards like this are rarely found. The age, patina and the way this cupboard is painted make it an exclusive piece of furniture.
