Superb English-style minister's desk known as a "Pedestal Desk" from the Victorian era (mid-19th century). This prestigious piece of furniture stands out for its exceptional cabinet-making quality and remarkable state of preservation, significantly surpassing the usual market standards. Technical Characteristics: • Materials: Solid mahogany and high-quality mahogany veneer (beautiful grain depth and warm patina). • Top: Covered in its original Havana-coloured leather, adorned with a gilded vignette and a cold-pressed border. The leather is in a rare state of preservation. • Configuration: Nine functional drawers (three in the waist, three per pedestal). Drawer fronts with fine dovetail joints, ensuring traditional handcrafted construction. • Hardware: Original patinated brass "drop handles" and lock entries. • Structure: Desk disassembles into three parts (the top and two pedestals), greatly facilitating transport and installation.
