Quote from the artist: "I would have liked to have the gaze of an animal that, for the first time, would begin to paint the human world." Regardless of the means used and the themes chosen, whether portraits, flowers, landscapes, nudes, or animals, as in this case, it is the explosion of pure colour and vibrancy that allow one to recognise a work by Karel APPEL.
