The Karel APPEL Foundation has been contacted, but it does not issue certificates of authenticity. Quote from the artist: "I would have liked to have the gaze of an animal that, for the first time, would start painting the human world." Regardless of the means used and the themes chosen, whether portraits, flowers, landscapes, nudes, or animals, as in this case, it is the explosion of pure colour and vibrancy that allows one to recognise a work by Karel APPEL.
