Pair of ceramic glazed candlesticks in the shape of roosters, signed A.G Roger, year 1948.

Magnificent and rare/unique pair of stylised rooster candlesticks in glazed ceramic, signed A.G Roger 48 under the base, to be identified, handcrafted vintage workshop work from 1948. Beautiful post-war production with an aesthetic strongly influenced by Art Deco. The body is covered with a decoration of incised feathers enhanced with hand-painted gold, with a large spiralled volute tail serving as handles. One piece is burgundy red with gold decoration, the other cobalt blue also enhanced with gold. Very high quality craftsmanship, reminiscent of productions from Vallauris of that era.
