Wall sculpture in glazed ceramic relief from the 1950s by Helmut Schäffenacker. Its expressionist decor and glazed reliefs recall some of the anthropomorphic works of Pablo Picasso, Roger Capron, Jean Jaffeux, and the Cloutier brothers made on terracotta. Schäffenacker is my favourite German ceramist. He was the son of Otto Schäffenacker, a famous painter from the early 20th century. The production of his ceramic workshop was very limited. His works are therefore rarer than those of other ceramists of the time. The plaque has a hanging system on the back. Overall excellent condition with only a few minor signs of age for a piece that is nearly 70 years old. Height: 25 cm. Width: 13 cm. Thickness: 3 cm.
