‘Head’ Sculpture Lamp – glazed ceramic, vintage. A unique, expressive piece that combines the function of a light with the form of a ceramic sculpture. The lamp depicts a stylised human head with highly simplified, organic features. Its surface is covered in a distinctive green glaze with varied textures and colours, causing the object to change appearance depending on the angle of the light. A particularly interesting feature is the holes cut into the head’s form. When the light is switched on, the glow shines through them, emphasising the sculptural nature of the piece and creating a striking interplay of light and shadow. In the areas not covered by glaze, the natural, reddish ceramic body is visible, which further emphasises the handcrafted nature of the object. The lamp’s form is in keeping with the trend in Polish artistic ceramics and functional sculpture of the second half of the 20th century. The artist has not been identified; there is no signature.
