Brutalist wall sculpture by Ars Munda. This impressive wall relief, often called the 'Dance of love', is a characteristic work of the Ars Munda Collective, an artist group mainly active in the 1960s and 1970s (Mid-Century Modern period). Form and style: The sculpture is an excellent example of Brutalism in decorative art, with robust, heavily textured surfaces and an emphasis on texture. The vertical, stylised depiction shows two intertwined human figures in graceful dance movement. The 5 cm depth creates a dramatic shadow, enhancing the sculptural quality. Material and collective: Although the work looks like heavy cast iron or bronze, it is made of resin. Ars Munda used this technique – making a 'Multiplo' (an equivalent piece in a series, explicitly not a copy) – to make high-quality art more affordable and accessible to a wide audience. These works were sometimes seen on house facades in several parts of Western Europe. With a height of 50 cm, this is a real decorative eye-catcher. Country of origin: Germany. Manufacturer: Ars Munda Collective. Period: 1960s. Height: 50 cm. Width: 33 cm. Depth: 5 cm. This item can be shipped as a parcel within the EU.
