Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet dated 1806

Antique bridal cupboard dating from 1806, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The heavily aged character and original paintings give it a stunning appearance. Both the design of the cupboard and the painting are simple and primitive, but authentic and a typical example of folk art from the region. The cupboard is painted in a soft blue colour with red/pink accents, with trees of life in the panels and the wedding date above the doors. The cupboard has been professionally restored, maintaining originality and character. The construction is solid, the painting is worn but preserved, and the patina is retained. The layout consists of a simple rod. The cupboard can be locked with a working lock; there is a third key plate from an extra lock that was once present. Old, sporadic woodworm traces have been checked and treated. The cupboard can be transported in two parts.
