Painted folk art bridal wardrobe 1806

Exceptional antique bridal wardrobe made of pine dating from 1806. This wardrobe is simply designed but beautifully painted with floral decorations in the panels. The wedding date of the previous owner is painted above the door. This piece is still in neat condition for its age, although there are naturally some signs of use and old restorations visible. The interior is equipped with two shelves. The wardrobe has a working lock with key. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. These pieces of furniture were later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece comes from South Germany (Oberpfalz).
