This original painted bridal armoire dates from 1795. It shows the usual signs of wear and tear over its long life. For example, the crest and foot have been replaced, and some old wormholes can be seen from time to time. The entire armoire has, of course, been inspected and treated, and is ready for use. This armoire comes from the Weissenburg region of Bavaria and features a beautiful painting on the door. It depicts the Tree of Life, a central motif in folk art. It grows from a chalice, containing brandy. The interior of the armoire retains its original layout, with hooks and a shelf. Additional shelves can easily be added if needed. In the past, it was customary to give this type of bridal armoire to the newlyweds at a wedding. This furniture was then placed in a state room of the farmhouse, rarely used for distinguished guests or special occasions. A magnificent and decorative historical piece. 185 cm high, 109 cm wide, 44 cm deep.
