Alfred Cox Mid-Century Modern Chest of Drawers 1952 in oak

We are delighted to offer for sale this superb original Alfred Cox chest of drawers dating from around 1952, in Mid-Century Modern style, which is part of a suite. This chest of drawers is very well made, of a good size with a glass top and a small lip at the back, the second chest not having this lip. It is made of English oak and has a very elegant look. These pieces of furniture were made after the Second World War, a time when materials were scarce, and they were considered stylish, modern, and very utilitarian for their era. In terms of condition, it has been carefully cleaned, waxed, and hand-polished from top to bottom. It shows normal signs of age and use, with a period patina mainly in good condition. Dimensions: height 87.5 cm, width 106.5 cm, depth 55.5 cm (measured at the widest point). The item is available for collection from our warehouse in Pulborough.
