Herman Miller Lounge chair & ottoman rosewood Charles & Ray Eames 1960s

After several years of development by ray & charles eames, the herman miller lounge chair went into production in 1956. This chair is a herman miller usa edition produced between 1960 and 1964. The chair and ottoman have been restored by a specialized workshop. The multiplex shells veneered with rio rosewood have been stripped and refinished with hardening oil (chair and ottoman). The black leather is original and in good condition, except for the leather on the armrests and the ottoman cushion, which has been renewed. The new leather looks very similar to the old one; it is difficult to see the difference. The original leather has a slight patina, but is in very good condition. The cushions of this generation of chairs are still filled with feathers, which is not the case with more recent versions. The old herman miller usa editions are the most sought-after and are becoming very difficult to find.
