Painted Folk Art Bridal Cabinet 1854

Exceptional antique bridal wardrobe made of pine dating from 1854. This wardrobe has a simple design but is beautifully painted in a grey-blue colour with fresh floral decorations in the panels. Above the door is the wedding date of the previous owner. This piece is in very neat condition for its age with minimal signs of use. The wardrobe has a well-functioning lock with key and is equipped inside with a shelf, a sturdy rod, and coat hooks. More shelves can be easily added if desired. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a wedding gift to the couple. These pieces were later placed on the farm in a show room that was only rarely used for important visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history. This piece comes from southern Germany (Bavaria).
