Monumental glass library in Victorian hardwood.

We are delighted to offer for sale this finely hand-carved mahogany exhibition bookcase, very large and majestic, Victorian era circa 1860, with bevelled glass panels. This bookcase provides monumental storage capacity for hundreds of books, with neoclassical French or Italian style ornamentation at the top depicting cherubs with foliage on either side. The shelves are removable and height-adjustable. The piece is divided into five easy-to-transport and install parts. The wood is entirely made of solid mahogany with flame mahogany panels. The furniture has been carefully hand-cleaned, waxed, and polished. Aside from normal patina marks due to age and use, the piece is in very good condition.
