Antique sideboard

Glass-fronted sideboard made of solid pitch pine dating from the late 19th century. This two-part buffet consists of a glass upper section with several shelves ideal for displaying dishes, decorative objects, or books, and a lower section with two drawers and two solid doors providing a nice closed storage space. The piece has been completely sanded, inside and out, to remove an old orange varnish and restore the natural, raw, and refined appearance of the wood. It has then been fully waxed for better protection while maintaining this soft and authentic finish. The interior of the upper section and the drawers have been painted in a delicate pastel green, which contrasts beautifully with the natural hue of the pitch pine. In the upper section, each door features two large panes of glass, framed by fine decorative strips creating the illusion of twelve small panes and enhancing the antique charm of the piece. The wood shows signs of old woodworm, and the sideboard has been carefully treated preventively with two coats of Xylophène. The key for the lower section is missing. Note: this is an antique piece that naturally bears the marks of its history, with its small irregularities and imperfections, which fully contribute to its charm and authenticity.
