Rustic Farmhouse Folk Art Painted Bridal Cabinet

Antique bridal wardrobe dating from around 1825, originating from Franconia, southern Germany. The aged character and the paintings give the whole piece an amazing appearance. Both the design of the wardrobe and the painting are simple and primitive, but a typical example of folk art from the region. The wardrobe is painted in a green-blue colour with pink/red cloud motifs and colourful panels. The panels are decorated with flowers and amphorae. The wardrobe has been professionally checked throughout, retaining its originality and character. The construction is sturdy. The green-blue exterior has been touched up in the past and the interior is neatly lined with fabric. The layout includes two later added shelves. The wardrobe closes with the original, impressive lock. Occasional old woodworm traces have been checked and treated.
