This very beautiful and large decorative ceramic plate adorned with hand-painted patterns will be wonderful for wall decoration, either alone or in combination with other plates, but it can also serve as an original catch-all. It is signed Punter on the back and numbered "33/1". For those who know the pottery of Teruel and this signature, you may be surprised, as I was, to find blue patterns. I therefore contacted the workshop "Domingo Punter e Hijos," which still exists in Teruel (and is run by Domingo's sons) to learn more. We exchanged several emails, and I now know that the pottery of Teruel was primarily green and black, but blue-decorated pottery was also produced in the 16th and 17th centuries, which is why we still find blue pieces today to continue this tradition. They also specify that their father, Domingo Punter, founded the company "Cerámicas Punter" in 1971 with a partner, and all pieces were then signed "Punter." He left it in 1974 to work under his own name, signing as "Domingo Punter." Therefore, pieces signed Punter come from the Ceramicas Punter workshop. By studying the reference and photos of this particular plate, they were able to tell me that it dates from 1980 to 1990. This plate has a hook on the back. It is in perfect condition, with no cracks or chips. It measures 30 cm in diameter and 5.5 cm in height at the rim.
