A pair of Scandinavian table lamps made in Denmark in the 1950s by Kähler Keramik, designed by Nils Kähler. The blue glazing and chevron pattern are stunning. Both are signed Kähler "HAK" and "Nils". Good condition. Price for the pair. Nils Joakim Kähler was the fourth and last generation of the Kähler family to lead the ceramics factory. In 1940, he took over the management with his brother Herman Jørgen Kähler. Nils helped bring the Kähler ceramics workshop into the modernist era, particularly through the simple salt-glazed stoneware he designed. His ceramics focus on form and material, moving away from the company's traditional orientation towards coloured glazes and decoration. Nils Kähler's ceramics also gained attention abroad. He notably participated in the Louvre exhibition in Paris in 1958 and the "The Arts of Denmark" exhibition in 1962 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, where he exhibited alongside other prominent names in Danish design such as Kay Kaye, Hans J. Wegner, and Georg Jensen. Total height: 37 cm.
