Pair of large ceramic table lamps. Various shades and gradients of blue and reddish-brown with yellow-orange accents. Model 941 created by Einar Johansen for Søholm Stentøj (Soholm Pottery) on the island of Bornholm, Denmark, in the 1960s-70s. Einar Johansen was born in 1906. He studied painting at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, but changed his mind and became a ceramicist. In 1935, he opened his own pottery workshop, which he ran until 1957. In 1958, he began working at Søholm until 1968, after which he returned to his own studio. During his time at Søholm (1958-1968), he designed many beautiful stoneware and pottery pieces—among them his famous blue glazed stoneware. They come with new lampshades and have been rewired. Total height with lampshade: 67.5 cm. Lampshade dimensions: diameter 35 cm / 30 cm - height 30 cm. Height of the lamp base, including the socket: 44 cm.
