Plate for the ancient warrior — Roger Capron, Vallauris, around 1955–1960

Decorative plate in glazed earthenware by Roger Capron, Vallauris. Polychrome decoration of a hoplite hand-painted on an ivory white background. Signed on the reverse. Ø 21.5 cm. Very good condition. This plate belongs to a group of motifs featuring hoplites — helmet, concentric shield, spear — characteristic of the workshop's production in the second half of the 1950s. Signed in black enamel "CAPRON / Vallauris", followed by the number "041". Available for purchase alone or paired with the other plate with the same decoration that we are also selling.
