Very beautiful decorative plate, in glazed ceramic from Vallauris, dated 1954 and signed by the hand of the famous French ceramist and visual artist Dominique Baudart (1933-2007). It evokes the style of Picasso. This rare piece dates from the pivotal year when the artist co-founded the legendary workshop of Vieux Moulin with Robert Pérot and Jean-Claude Malarmey. * Exceptional decoration: Modernist scene depicting two characters dancing in a poetic surge, with engraved contours (sgraffito technique). Magnificent colour palette typical of the 1950s, blending turquoise blue, water green, and violet touches on a brown background. * Complete marks and traceability on the back: * Handwritten signature "D. Baudart" * Local mention "Vallauris" * Exact date "1954" * Circular embossed stamp "Albertis Vallauris" (manufacturer of the clay biscuit). * Dimensions: Diameter of 25 cm. * Condition: Perfect condition. Note slight original enamel withdrawals on the edge (smooth to the touch, characteristic of the artisanal firing of the time), no cracks or chips. A highly collectible Mid-Century art piece, perfect for enthusiasts of the 1950s and the golden age of Vallauris (Picasso, Jean Lurçat, Georges Jouve). Christmas gift idea...
