Maarten Van Severen, LC93B Low Chair for Top Mouton

LC93B Low Chair designed by Belgian interior architect and designer Maarten Van Severen in Belgium in 1993 and produced by Top Mouton/Aiki, a collectible chair within minimalist Belgian design. The first examples were handmade in Van Severen's Ghent atelier before the model entered semi-industrial production from 1999 with Belgian manufacturer Top Mouton, later continued as Aiki. The gently curved beech plywood shell in natural oil lacquer rests on a minimal aluminium frame. Reduced to a formed wooden shell and light metal support, the LC93B allows nothing beyond what the chair structurally needs. No longer in production and preserved in top condition.
