Folk art bridal chest, 1885

Pine wedding chest dating from 1885. The traditional illustrations depict flowers. The top was also originally painted, but as these chests were often used as seating, the paintings have largely faded. This chest was part of a dowry lot and was probably kept in the clean room of the house, along with the dowry textiles. Treated against woodworm.
