The Neoclassical style demi-lune (half-moon) commode/ chest of drawers, 1910s-1920s. The chest features a distinct semi-circular shape, built to sit flush against a wall. It is crafted from fine mahogany veneered wood and solid wood and decorated with elegant parquetry or marquetry inlay borders. It features classic Neoclassical ring handles, escutcheons, and ormolu (gilt-bronze) decorative mounts. The piece is supported by elegant, tapered legs and crowned with a dark, contoured marble top. It is a very refined and of excellent construction that gives the piece of furniture a noble and affected appearance. Very good overall condition consistent with age and use; minor surface wear with splendid patina. The marble top is super heavy. There is only small chip on the corner (seen on photos). Presented of moth holes, (seen on photos), preferred to be treated for better use. The furniture itself is very heavy, about over 100kg. Measurement: Width 132 cm X depth 58cm X height 108cm.
